Acer Teacher Desktop
All staff have access to their own desktop computer. The computer runs Windows 10 as the operating system.
Google Chrome should be used for the web browser. If you sign in to Chrome using your Google Apps UN & PW, all content will follow you to any other Chrome browser that you sign into using the same credentials. Internet Explorer is not to be used without permission from the Technology Department.
Microsoft Office 2016 is installed which includes Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher and Access.
Adobe CC is installed which includes Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Flash, Illustrator, Premiere, and more.
Software essentials such as ActivInspire, Flash, Java, VLC, VNC, etc. are also installed.
Staff should be very cautious when installing programs to prevent unintentional installation of spyware or viruses. All data should be stored in Google Drive. It is your responsibility to create a backup of your data in case of data loss.
To change your password at any time, press CTRL+ALT+Del while in Windows, choose Change Password, and create a new password. This will also change your Google Apps password, so you will need to log back into Chrome and Google Apps on your iPad/phone/Chromebook.
Teacher Login: first initial of first name followed by last name Example: John Smith = jsmith
Password: initially will be set to changeMe! You will be prompted to change the password to something more secure
Student Login: first three initials of first name followed by last name followed by sms Example: John Smith = johsmithsms
Password: First two initials of last name followed by student ID number found in PlusPortals/Gradebook Example: Sm1500xxxx
St. Mary students do not log in to windows machines.
